Líderes - NRI support within Latin America and the Caribbean

Entering its third year, the 2019 Líderes programme is open to continue providing key support for National, Sub-Regional, Regional and Youth IGF initiatives (NRIs). As always, Líderes gives priority to new or recently developed NRIs. However, other NRIs may also apply.

In the Latin American and Caribbean region there are over 21 NRIs. You can see a list of upcoming initiatives here. In addition to supporting the organisation of local initiatives, Líderes will also support the participation of NRI coordinators, or líderes, at the Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Internet Governance Forum (LACIGF).

Líderes puts LACNIC experts to your disposal to present at your NRI on Internet governance and resource management topics. The programme also provides support in the following ways:

  1. Advice on organising the initiative:
    1. Definition of objectives
    2. Makeup of group and the sectors that ought to participate and become involved
    3. Diversity of financial sources to ensure independence in decision-making
  1. Small financial contributions determined on a first-come-first-serve basis and subject to the availability of funds
    1. Support in defining sources of funding
  1. Communication support for your NRI
  2. Fellowships for LACIGF

LACIGF fellowships aim at having NRI coordinators share their experiences in organising their initiatives and add new and diverse perspectives to regional policy discussion.
