CONNECTIVITY FORUM FOR CENTRAL AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN
Within the framework of the XXIX Meeting of the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission's Permanent Executive Committee (COM/CITEL), the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (CITEL) will be hosting the Connectivity Forum for the Caribbean and Central America.
The Forum will be held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on December 1st, 2014, and will bring together experts to discuss concrete actions that are needed for a better integration of all deployment work currently being done in terms of regional connectivity and broadband throughout the Americas.
LACNIC will be represented by Mr. Cesar Diaz, the organization's External Relations Manager for Central America. "Our goal is to share the connectivity challenges that exist in our region, while also highlighting the need to promote greater access to ICTs," said Díaz. "Greater connectivity means greater use of IP address resources, precisely at a time where IPv4 addresses have been exhausted. This presents an ideal scenario for improving IPv6 implementation," he added.
